WELL DONE TO THE FQNR VOLUNTEERS AT THE KINGSTANDING FUN DAY
A big thank you for all those who help man the FQNR Tombola stall at the recent Kingstanding fun day. All proceeds will go to helping the reserve.

PLEASE TAKE YOUR LITTER HOME
Following a spell of decent weather it has been nice to see a number of people having pic nicks in the Queslett Nature Reserve.
However the FQNR Committee would like to remind everyone please take your litter home.
Plastic bottles and bags for example when left behind do not only look unpleasant but can put wild life in danger.

RESERVE SWAN IS OK
Following report that a swan was injured in the Queslett Nature Reserve I contacted the Councils Ranger service who following investigations have informed me the swan is fine but they will keep a watching brief on it.
I would ask dog walker using the reserve to keep their dogs away from the swans there as the swans although some aggressive can be injured by over friendly dogs.

KEEP THE RESERVE TIDY
I would like to thank all those volunteers who work so hard to try and keep the Queslett nature Reserve looking so good.
I just wish some of those who use it would take their rubbish home with them and keep the place looking tidy.

The Friends of the Queslett Nature Reserve will be manning a tombola stall at the Kingstanding fun day on Saturday 18th May from 10 until 2pm.
Why not come along and find out more about the FQNR and have a go on our tombola.

EASTER EGG HUNT CONFUSION
here appears to have been some confusion regarding a Easter Egg Hunt even which took place on Easter Saturday.
Sadly the Friends of the Quslett Nature Reserve who's name I understand was added to the list of organisers where not informed about it, like my self, until a few day before It took place and were also told it would be cancelled later still.!
The event which was organised by the Birmingham Park Rangers Service did take place in the end but some residents and their children may have missed out due to confused messages being given.
I hope those who did take part enjoyed the event and I understand a Ranger did attend to try and organise it.
The FONR have requested any events using their name in the future must be reported to the group well before an event takes place.
