TAKE CARE WHEN USING THE QUESLETT NATURE RESERVE IN WINTER

Please enjoy using the Queslett Nature Reserve but take extra care.
Let someone know you are using it if you go on there in this weather.
The snow can be deceptive and you could turn an ankle while walking through it in the reserve. There could be hidden holes and so on.?
Don't forget to wrap up well and keep well away from the lake.

FEED WILD BIRDS

With all the snow we have had over the last few days and the news that we have more to come, if you have not done so all ready please think about feeding our wild birds.
For the best advice on what to feed wild birds take a look at the RSPB Webb
www.rspb.org.uk/advice/helpingbirds/feeding/index.aspx

Lets give them a helping hand to survive through the winter so lets feed the birds in our garden and on our open spaces like the Qeuslett Nature Reserve.

KEEP AWAY FORM THE RESERVE LAKE

Following months of rains the Queslett Nature Reserve lake is now full once again. This makes the lake even more dangerous for those who do not take care. (Keep your dogs from entering it)

Do not go near its muddy edges and do not go on any ice that forms on it. This lake is natural and like all such bodies of water can be dangerous.
NEVER BE TEMPTED TO WALK ON THE LAKE WHEN IT IS FROZEN

MEMORIAL TREE PLANTED FOR BERT COOKE

The Friends of the Queslett Nature Reserve and Bert  Cooke's Family would like to say another  big thank you to PERSIMMONS HOMES for donating and planting Bert Cooke's Memorial tree.
This has now been planted in the Queslett Nature Reserve just inside the new Booths Road entrance.

The FQNR now hope to use more raised by Berts family to introduce new wild life family plants and bushes at selected locations in the reserve.
